In addition to a host of carefully crafted one-shots, the pack is home to a swath of crisp, tight drum loops and elegant melodies that cover a huge sonic range. On that note, let’s take a look at 5 Slate Digital plugins which every mix engineer should own: 1. Slate Digital Murda Melodies Multi-FX Plug-in. From silky smooth hi-hats to instantly iconic 808s, the new CAICOS sample pack has everything you need to make the island-inspired banger of your dreams. On the whole I would put Slate and Waves in the same camp, great plugs very usable, UAD are in that higher end club. While audio plugin technology has come leaps and bounds in the last 10 years, the fact that I’m still using both of these plugins in every single mix I do says a lot about their quality. The compressor are very good as well and compare somewhat to UAD. The secret to VMR is gang up the plugs and get each one to do a little. What do you make of them when compared to the Waves and UA versions or Native Instruments/Softube or even the new FPGA ones by Antelope (since i own a device)? I've never used Slate myself but i am considering and i see some people talking about lots of bugs, stability, crashes etc or even CPU resource problems.Generally the VMR selection is very good and you can use alot of them in a mix, if you take the SSL emu that is nice but it will get grabby if pushed, so if you compare that to say the UADE its not as smooth. Hey people, regarding the requests for emulations of classics (API, NEVE etc) what do you think of the current ones compared with other brands?
